    A: Yes. Just supply all of the starting urls to gw.

  • Q: How do I display the document modified date?

  • Q: I installed it and indexed my site but get a "404" error when attempting to search.
    A: When asked for your CGI directory during installation, you need to provide the correct directory for your webserver. Not just any directory called "cgi-bin". Check your webserver's configuration to find the right location. In IIS this is often "c:\inetpub\scripts".

  • Q: Can I walk using one machine then upload the database to another machine?
    A: If both machines are running the same operating system on the same type of CPU then yes. If not then no. Databases are not compatible across platforms. After uploading, you should remove the SYSLOCKS file.

  • Q: How do I index just one section of a site?
    A: Use the -j option. Don't forget to include the starting point Url as well as the -j Url prefix. gw -jhttp://www.mysite.com/somedir/ http://www.mysite.com/somedir/special.html
